How can I get my "mailbox quota" increased?

The following steps are on how to fix the exceeded Disk Quota::

  • Delete as many e-mails that are not essential and then be sure to empty the Deleted items folder. To empty the Deleted Items Folder : either in the Outlook Shortcuts or the Folder List right click on the Deleted Items Folder and select the option to Empty Deleted Items Folder.
  • Run the auto Archive on a regular basis.  To program AutoArchive go to TOOLS menu. Select Options.  Click on OTHER tab and click on Autoarchive.  Establish the frequency of archiving i.e., every 60 days. Select "prompt before autoarchiving." Pay close attention to "Default archive file:" field. This file is where your old email will be stored. Your old mail can only be accessed if this file is present on the computer. If you delete this file or it gets corrupted, you will lose all your old mail. Click OK to save your changes.  Then go to the File menu on the top of the window. Click on Archive... from the drop down menu. Select first option Archive all folders acccording to the Auto Archive Settings.  Click Okay.
  • Save all file attachements sent to you via e-mail to your hard drive and then remove the attachment from the e-mail so that only the e-mail is saved on the server.  This takes less space.  To save an attachment to the hard drive:
    • Open the e-mail containing the attachment.
    • Right Click on the attachment
    • Choose Save as and designate where you will save the file to.
    • Right click on attachment again.
    • Choose remove.
This will delete the attachment from the e-mail but keep the e-mail. close the e-mail and say yes to saving the changes.
All of these alternatives or a combination of some will clean up some disk space on ADM

* YOUR QUOTA CAN NOT BE INCREASED *
